The week in Hawthorne
What moved, what dropped and what changed hands in Hawthorne, read the way an inspector reads a house.
The Hawthorne file →The largest reduction on the desk was 4085 W 141st Street — down $60,000, from $959,500 to $899,500, listed by Remax Optima.
11 listings changed status: 4 sold, 3 pending, 2 active under contract, 1 back on market. The brokerage on every row below is the listing brokerage on the record, not ours.
7 homes came to market, asking from $799,000 to $990,000.
That is the week, address by address. What any one of these rows means for a house on the same street is the question the file answers next.

NeighbourhoodDowntown Hawthorne / Civic Center
The city's original commercial core along Hawthorne Boulevard grew out of the 80-acre townsite platted by the Hawthorne Improvement Company in January 1906; the city incorporated here as a sixth-class municipality on July 12, 1922, and today's City Hall sits a few blocks from that original grid.
NeighbourhoodThree Sixty South Bay (Hawthorne Plaza site)
The 35-acre former Hawthorne Plaza mall, built in 1974-77 with Montgomery Ward, The Broadway and JCPenney as anchors, closed in 1999 and sat vacant for two decades before the city won a 2025 court order forcing its owner to demolish it, with demolition beginning in August 2026.
